It's been 10 years since Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan's hit drama serial Humsafar hit the screens. The soap, penned by Farhat Ishtiaq, in many ways kick-started the lead actors' acting careers. Mahira, for one, has always been extremely grateful for the role of a lifetime.

As fans reminisce about their favourite show, the Raees star took to Twitter and expressed her love for fans. "I have nothing but gratitude and love for all of you and only myself to offer," she wrote. Conducting a much-awaited Ask Mahira session, the star then went on to interact with the fans.

When a fan said her role as Khirad is one for the books, Mahira wholeheartedly agreed. "Khirad is Khirad, not a woman comes close," she responded.

Mahira also replied to Farhat herself, hoping for another brilliantly written romantic drama. "Farhat! You wrote Khirad so beautifully. Ek aur romance hojaye (Let's work on another romance?)" the Verna actor quipped.

Speaking about whether there was a scene she could have done better, the star shared, "I think maybe the last scene in the house. I would have done it better I think."

Mahira also shared few snippets from the show. She signed off with a love note for her fans. "Okay guys, I love you. Always and forever. You all are my real Humsafars," the Bol star penned, adding, "You’ve made this ten-year journey of mine, magical and fantastical. Forever grateful."

Last year, the actor shared a scene from her life changing serial and coupled the post with a heartfelt caption to mark the nine years of the show. "What is there left to say that hasn’t already been said?" asked Khan. "Maybe that’s the thing about Humsafar - there is always more to say," she responded, reinstating her emotional attachment to the show and her character. "Khirad is by far my most special character. She loved fiercely, she gave whole heartedly and when it came to her self respect -she held it closest to her heart. What a woman."
