ISLAMABAD:

The Joint Secretary of the IT and Communication Division, Taimur Khan, has been removed for defying the federal ombudsman’s orders. He has been directed to report to his parent’ department.

The officer also had the additional charge of Haripur Telephone Industries of Pakistan’s (TIP) Managing Director, who because of his post, is also the de facto chairman of TIP housing society.

Taimur Khan had refused to issue a non-objection certificate (NOC) for the installation of domestic power meters. As a result, the residents of the housing society were paying heavy power bills on commercial tariffs. His removal has paved the way for the installation of domestic meters for residents of the housing scheme.
