PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai has formed a fact finding committee to probe the results of those students who achieved more than 1,090 marks out of 1,100 in the eight education boards of the province after the government voiced its reservation about the results.

Some students had secured 100 per cent marks, inviting widespread criticism.

Similarly, the K-P chief secretary has also sought the list of position holder students as well as all those students who have been passed by the board under a formula introduced by the incumbent government.

The eight member assessment or fact finding committee will submit its report to the minister which will be then sent to the provincial government.

There are serious reservations from the government as Mardan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has been topped by a female student who secured 1,100 marks out of 1,100.

Similarly the BISEP was topped at 1,098 marks by another student.

These results created a public outcry because schools had been closed down by the government due to Covid-19 emergency and it had been decided that all students will be given at least passing marks.

There were a total of 84,830 students in the matric class in which 2,673 were absent from the exam.
