Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang involved in fleecing innocent people by running a government job scam in the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).

The police arrested the gang's alleged female ringleader and two of her accomplices, while seizing fake government documents, including job letters and official stamps. One of the arrested suspects is a grade-14 employee in the BIEK.

Shahra-e-Noor Jahan police, during an operation at the BIEK, arrested Ali Khan and Akram Ali Jalbani, two accomplices of Nigar Nafees, who was allegedly heading the gang.

SHO Aftab Ahmad Abbasi said that the arrested scammers have deprived many innocent citizens of their savings by publishing fake advertisements of government jobs whereas the BIEK administration has expressed its detachment from the fake job opportunities. He further said that Akram Ali, the accomplice of Nigar Nafees who offered fake government jobs by taking bribe, is a grade-14 employee in the IT department of the Board.

During interrogation, the ringleader of the gang told the police that she used to extort advance payment from the citizens by conducting fake interviews and pretending to be a government official in front of the IT department workers.
