Quetta petrol pumps shut down in protest

Move comes after govt seals pumps for selling petrol without proof of vaccination

All Balochistan Petroleum Dealers Association has closed all Quetta petrol pumps to protest against the sealing of pumps for selling petrol without the anti-coronavirus vaccination card.

As a result, petrol has run out in the city and citizens are suffering. According to details, the district administration on Tuesday sealed a petrol pump named Bakhtawar Petroleum in the Satellite Town area of Quetta for selling petrol to customers without checking the coronavirus vaccination card.

Talking in this regard, Haji Wali Mohammad Lehri, Chairman of the All Balochistan Petroleum Dealers Association, said the deputy commissioner Quetta had banned the supply of petrol without a vaccine card which is not possible.

“If action is to be taken against those without a vaccination card, the administration should do it itself,” he said. Lehri added that petrol pumps in Quetta have been sealed four times in the last 15 days against which all petrol pumps in Quetta city have been closed indefinitely.

He said no contact has been made by the administration and petrol pumps will remain closed till the demands are met. “Petrol Pumps Association is divided into two groups,” DC Quetta Irfan Nawaz Memon said.
