Cricket fans were left heartbroken after the much-awaited New Zealand and Pakistan series came to an abrupt end when the former pulled out of the tour last minute citing a security alert by their government. A soon as the news broke out, many fans took to Twitter and expressed shock, sadness and anger.

Humayun Saeed, Farhan Saeed, Faysal Quraishi, Anoushey Ashraf among others too shared their two cents on the matter. Taking to Twitter, the artists extended support to the Pakistan Cricket Board and squashed rumours of the country being unsafe for sports.

"Strange and disturbing move by New Zealand," the Punjab Nahi Jaungi star penned.

"The entire world is aware law and order in Pakistan is under complete control; our security and intelligence agencies are outstanding at their job. Last-minute cancellation without any proof makes no sense! Disappointing for millions of fans!"

Meanwhile, the Sajni singer commented, "Pakistan is as safe as it gets for any cricketing nation that comes here. Unfortunate to see the unilateral cancellation of the #PAKvNZ series - a sad day for international cricket."

Faysal Quraishi shared similar sentiments. "Very disappointed to hear about New Zealand backing out of the game at the last minute." He added, "This is just sad and shocking after all the work that had been put in by the organisers as well as the team. Millions of cricket fans have been let down today."

Anoushey remarked, "We all know who’s behind this pettiness. But we have seen worse and will wait for the games to return with patience and resilience still. Good things are on their way. Shoutout to Wasim Khan for doing his best to bring cricket back to Pakistan."

Asim Azhar, like his fans, was disappointed. But the crooner shared a message of hope on Twitter. "It's sad but it's okay. We’re a nation used to bouncing back. Pakistan is safe and always will be. We’ll still open-heartedly welcome New Zealand or any other nation that thinks otherwise because that's who we are."
