ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his confidence on Monday that the Chinese investment in Pakistan would open immense employment opportunities and assured that the government would extend utmost assistance to foreign investors.

Talking to a delegation of heads of Chinese companies that called on the prime minister here, Imran said that the government was focusing on the ‘ease-of-doing-business’ policy and was extending facilities to investors.

China’s ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, federal ministers Hammad Azhar, Shaukat Tareen and Asad Umer, and Adviser on Commerce Razak Dawood, Special Assistant on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Khalid Mansoor and senior officials were also present.

“Pakistan can learn a lot from China in terms of industrial development, particularly in areas of agriculture, fisheries, vegetables and fruits, high-yielding livestock and information technology, the prime minister said.

The delegation of heads of Chinese companies appreciated the investor-friendly policies of the government of Pakistan and expressed keen interest in investing in the country, said an official handout issued here on Monday.
