HYDERABAD:

Sindh Taraqi Pasand (STP) party leader Dr Qadir Magsi has lamented the sacking of thousands of employees of the federal government on an order of the Supreme Court. "What kind of justice is it that the people working for 21 years in several government organisations are suddenly fired from their jobs?" he questioned, at a party meeting.

Magsi contended that a majority of the sacked federal employees belonged to Sindh.

"The Centre is doing injustice with the people of Sindh under the garb of that order," he alleged.

He blamed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's federal government for plunging the country into several crises, including inflation and unemployment.

He added that the people were finding it difficult to afford two meals in a day and their necessary medicines.

The STP chairperson also objected to the settlement of the Afghan refugees in Sindh. The ongoing settlement is not only causing economic exploitation of the natives but also gradually depriving them of their majority status in the province, he said, adding that the people of Sindh will continue their protests against the settlement of outsiders in the province.

He believed that the whole region, specially Pakistan, will be affected due to the change of the rulers in Afghanistan. "Keeping in view the past influx of refugees, experiences and observations, a strong watch should be kept on Sindh's borders."

"The Sindh Action Committee [an alliance consisting of several nationalist parties] has emerged as a hope for Sindhis. It ought to be made more strong and proactive," he emphasised.
