21 criminals rounded up; weapons, stolen motorbike recovered

Cases have been registered against all nabbed individuals and further investigations are under way

ISLAMABAD:

Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer had directed all the zonal officers to intensify crackdown against criminals to provide relief to the citizens of the federal capital.

Following the directions, the police arrested 21 suspects, said a spokesperson on Tuesday. According to the details, Aabpara police arrested accused Mohsin Ali, Munib and Abdullah and recovered one mobile phone, dagger and an iron punch from their possession. Koral police arrested accused Khalid Rehman and recovered one 9mm pistol along with ammunition from him.

Moreover, Sihala police arrested accused Muhammad Umair and recovered one 30-bore pistol from him while Noon Police arrested two accused Abdul Qadeer and Muhammad Bilal and recovered stolen motorbike from their possession.

Cases have been registered against all nabbed individuals and further investigations are under way.

Meanwhile, during a special crackdown against absconders, the Islamabad police nabbed 14 proclaimed offenders and court absconders from various areas of the city.

DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar and SSP (Operations) have appreciated the performance of the police teams. The SSP directed all the police officers to continue the crackdown against land-grabbers and criminals in the federal capital.

He said that the prime responsibility of the police is to protect the lives and property of citizens and all-out efforts would be made in this regard.
