PMS officers threaten to go on ‘long leave’

Announce protest outside CS office for due share in administrative positions

LAHORE:

Punjab Management Services (PMS) Officers Association has threatened to go on a long leave and also vowed to “expose the corruption of Pakistan Administrative Service officers” if PMS or PCS officer were not given their due share in administrative positions.

During a press conference, PMS Officer Association President Naveed Shehzad said they will be holding a protest outside the Chief Secretary office on Friday for their legal share in administrative positions. He said currently there were around 271 vacant positions in Punjab, where PMS officers could be posted.

He said the PAS officers, who do not even have enough federal services officers to fill these vacant slots, were not ready to let these positions go in the rightful hands of PMS officers. Interestingly these positions were earmarked for them, he added.

He said PAS through establishment division order, later declared null and void by High Courts, enhanced the numbers of positions for PAS officers in Punjab from 47 to 446, on their own accord. He said that if their due share was not given to them, they will be forced to on long leaves.

He said that currently, he has close to 200 leave applications from his colleagues. He said that they will also be forced to even bring forth the malpractices and corruption of these bureaucrats if their demands were not met.
