Police seize 11kgs ice from drug mules in rickshaw

Acting on information police conducted a raid on a bus stop at Raees Goth and hauled in their fourth accomplice

Police on Saturday claimed to have foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics worth millions of rupees from Balochistan to Karachi and arrested four suspects.

The suspects were trying to smuggle drugs in a rickshaw posing as passengers.

South DIG Javed Akbar Riaz during a press conference at his office said that a police party led by Mochko Police Station SHO Nadeem Ahmed stopped a rickshaw coming from Lucky Charhai Naka on the Hub River Road.

The cops searched the three passengers sitting at the backseat of the rickshaw and recovered 10 plastic boxes wrapped in a blanket.

On opening the boxes, the police party found 11kgs of ice, besides 4kgs of hashish from two sacks.

Police having arrested three suspects including Haji Mohsin, Nisar Ahmed and Imran, shifted them to the police station.

During their visit to the interrogation room, they spilled the beans about the network and identified their fourth accomplice Naseer.

Acting on information police conducted a raid on a bus stop at Raees Goth and hauled in Naseer. He was found carrying 1kg of ice and 4.5kgs of hashish.
