LAHORE:

Coordinated efforts were required to eliminate the drug menace from society. This was stated by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar during a meeting with Anti-Narcotics Force Director General (DG) Ghulam Shabbir Narejo at the CM’s office on Wednesday.

The provincial chief executive and the ANF DG agreed to take coordinated steps to take action against drug peddlers.

The CM termed the drug peddlers as ‘offenders of humanity.’ “Those involved in the drug business outside the educational institutions must be jailed. Such elements will be surely checked and police and excise departments will extend full cooperation to the ANF,” he continued.

“No one will be allowed to play with the future of the nation and the provincial government will collaborate with the ANF for the establishment of a hospital and for the treatment of drug addicts.”

The CM announced to establish more institutions to rehabilitate the drug addicts adding that such centres should be established in every division.

Indiscriminate action will be taken against those playing with the future of the youth, the chief minister appended.
