Alizeh Shah responds to trolls mocking her 'accent'
Alizeh Shah has been making headlines for a while now. Be it the hoo-ha regarding her recent award outfit or her short hair, the starlet doesn't seem to catch a break. Recently, Alizeh has been sharing few videos of her trying her hand at singing. The Ehd-e-Wafa starlet has covered tracks of Lana Del Rey among others.
Her last cover, however, received ample criticism. The actor sang Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's Bollywood number, O Re Piya and was later trolled for having 'an accent.'
Now, Alizeh is addressing the hate. "I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw few comments on how I have an accent when I sing," she said. "There's no such thing as an accent, that's how I speak. And whoever doesn't like it, doesn't have to listen to my songs. It's up to you."
She added how she sings for herself only anyway. "I sing for myself and people who love me. If you don't like it, then you can just leave," Alizeh added.
Previously, the starlet was seen shaking a leg in a tank top, crooning the Punjabi number with Sahir Ali Bhagga. And as tradition goes, Twitter was not impressed. So in response to this unrestrained criticism coming her way, Shah took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “I find all memes and criticism amusing. However, the fact that a trivial topic to discuss is now the most trending issue in our country… Instead of becoming a voice for Palestine, what's wrong with our people?"
