ISLAMABAD:

Responding to PPP chairman’s call for anti-government movement, the ruling party’s representatives on Sunday lashed out at the PPP saying “persistent lies and corruption” had become the identity of the Sindh-governed party, which had “failed” to provide basic facilities to the people of the province despite being in power for the last 13 years.

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said the political parties including the PPP did nothing except “plundering” the country's resources and “stashing the money abroad through money laundering and fake accounts” during their respective tenures.

He noted the only “performance” of Bilawal was that he was the son of Asif Zardari as he never joined any political struggle.

“If they cared so much about people they would have focused on public service instead of resorting to corruption during their stint in the government.”

Habib said people knew PPP always looted them under the guise of serving them.

Referring to Bilawal, he said the “chit chairman” had fulfilled the definition of “selected” as everyone was aware that he was “occupying the current position on a dubious will”.

He said the federation was compelled to work on the Karachi Transformation Plan under its own supervision due to the “endless corruption of the Sindh government”.

“Bilawal is yet to explain where his party has spent Rs1,900 billion given to the province by the federation under the National Finance Commission Award.”

The state minister maintained that the ruling PTI was the only government which had given equal dividends to the provinces besides their due share in the NFC Award.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan is the only leader who is pursuing a public service agenda,” he said.

“PTI would clean sweep the general elections of 2023 merely on the basis of its performance,” he claimed.

“Bilawal and others who came to power through rigging and back door channels will continue fail to enter power corridors even after next elections.”

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill also took a dig at the PPP saying the party had “failed” to provide basic facilities to the people of Sindh despite being in power for the last 13 years.

He said people were dying in Thar due to starvation while no health facility was available to them.

“People in Sindh are deprived of safe drinking water as the provincial government only performs on papers.”

He said the Punjab government was launching air ambulance while there was no rescue service in Sindh.
