8-year-old house help rescued from cruel employers
An eight-year-old housemaid was tortured by her employers in the Masiyari area of Murree police station in Rawalpindi. Upon receiving information, the police arrested the employer and registered a case, a spokesperson said on Sunday.
The Child Protection Bureau Rawalpindi took the girl into custody. According to details, the residents of Masiyari informed Murree police about the girl.
Shakeel, a resident of the area, told the police that an eight-year-old girl named Sana came to his house crying at 11 pm. The girl said Ejaz Hussain, a resident of Lakkar Mandi, Multan, had brought her to his house three years ago with her parents’ consent to do housework and take care of the children.
Hussain used to pay her parents but he had been torturing her during this time. The girl said she no longer wanted to work at this house. On the instructions of City Police Officer Ahsan Younas, the police reached the spot and after ensuring the safety of the girl, informed the Child Protection Bureau Rawalpindi and the girl's parents in Multan.
Upon the arrival of the girl's parents, a formal case was registered against the accused at the behest of the police and the girl was handed over to the custody of the Child Protection Bureau, Rawalpindi.
On the other hand, Chairperson Child Protection Bureau Sara Ahmed took notice of the incident of violence and directed the staff to take legal action against the accused.
