Acid attack victim succumbs to injuries
A young man was killed after the security guard of a factory threw acid on him In Ghulam Muhammadabad No 2, Dijkot on Saturday.
According to the police report, 32-year-old Tanveer Nazir, the son of Nazir Ahmad Ghulam and a resident of Kokianwala Rafiq Colony, used to work on the hoods of a factory with Usman Ghani, a resident of Gulshan-e-Ali Housing Colony, Saddar Bazar in Mehmoodabad.
Reportedly, the accused Sharif Masih also worked with the victim. Sharif and Tanveer had a quarrel a few days ago over washing tanks. To avenge this quarrel, Sharif threw acid on Tanveer while he was sleeping.
As a result, the victim’s face and chest were burnt and his esophagus was affected. He was rushed to Allied Hospital Faisalabad in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
Before his death, the victim recorded his statement to the police that Sharif Masih threw acid on him. The victim’s brother Wasim and factory secretary Shahid were also present while this statement was recorded.
When the victim eventually succumbed to his injuries, , SP Madina Town Hafeez-ur-Rehman Bugti, DSP Nishatabad Fayyaz Ahsan, SHO Nishatabad Imran Younus and other senior police officials rushed to the spot.
They handed over the body of the deceased to his heirs after postmortem and registered a case under 302 and 336 PPC against the named and unknown accused on the statement of deceased’s brother Wasim. Police also started raids for their arrest.
According to DSP Nishatabad Fayyaz Ahsan, teams had been formed to arrest accused Sharif who were conducting raids.

Earlier this year in February, three siblings were allegedly attacked with acid in their house in Khurrianwala.
Police said unidentified men entered the house and threw acid on the three siblings which resulted in them sustaining serious burn injuries.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed the victims to the hospital. Rail Bazaar police reached the spot and started a search operation to arrest the suspects.
Reportedly, the unidentified attackers entered the house of Tanveer Ahmed, a resident of Karkhana Bazaar, Darmanwali Street, from the roof and threw acid an 18-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, all three siblings, who were sleeping in a room.
The attack resulted in the siblings sustaining serious burns on their body. Rescue 1122 personnel rushed them to Allied Hospital Faisalabad after providing on the spot medical assistance.
On January 3, police registered a case against three persons including a couple for throwing acid on a citizen during an altercation in Khurrianwala.
Reportedly, the accused Ramzan had borrowed Rs26,000 from a resident of Makoana, Chishtnagar 229.
He went to take back the money when the accused Ramzan along with his wife Ramzana Bibi and son Yaseen threatened the victim with ‘serious consequences’.
Later, the accused physically assaulted the money lender. Ramzan’s wife and son then picked up a bottle of acid and gave it to Ramzan who threw the acid on the victim.
On September 15 last year, a man reportedly threw acid on his wife after failing to convince her to return along with him from her parents’ home in Faisalabad.
The acid attack left the woman severely injured and she was admitted to the Civil Hospital. Her husband threw acid on her after she refused to return to his home with him.
The victim had married accused Abdul Rafi, son of Abid Qayyum, four years ago.
The accused had tortured his sister and kicked her out of his house over a domestic dispute earlier last year. She went to Faisalabad and was living with her parents.
