Construction of sports complexes begins

Provincial chief executive orders appointment of project engineers for all the sports complexes

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal has announced that construction of sports complexes in 27 districts of Balochistan has begun.

He was chairing a meeting in this regard on Monday to review the construction progress. “We will provide sports opportunities to the youth at the district level while providing healthy recreational opportunities to women, children and common people.”

The meeting was also attended by Provincial Minister for Sports Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Additional chief secretary planning and development, principal secretary to the chief minister, Secretary Finance, Secretary Sports, Secretary Information, Commissioner Quetta and DG Sports.

The divisional commissioners briefed the meeting on the issues related to the project through video link while Sports Secretary Imran Gichki apprised the meeting of the progress made so far.

He informed the meeting that plantation of trees is being done on a high priority basis in the complexes and site offices are also being set up.

Expressing his views on the occasion, CM Kamal said the objective of this project is to provide sports opportunities to the youth at the district level while providing healthy recreational opportunities to women, children and common people. “This project is one of the major development projects of the current financial year.”

The provincial chief executive ordered appointment of project engineers for all the sports complexes.

“Historic monuments should be installed at the entrance gates and facilities should be provided in the sports complexes which were not available before,” he said.

CM Kamal also directed the sports secretary to make sure that restaurant facilities were also available in the sports complexes.
