The Taliban have taken control of the southeastern region of Afghanistan without any resistance and raised Islamic Emirate flag at Ghulam Khan and Angur Adaa on the Pak-Afghan border along the North and South Waziristan.

According to sources on the Pak-Afghan border, Taliban had reached southeastern Afghanistan in Paktia, Khost and Paktika, where Afghan security forces had evacuated government buildings and checkpoints.

Sources confirmed that security personnel at Ghulam Khan Zero Point had evacuated the Afghan check post in the dark of night on Sunday, as well as the Angur Adda checkpoint in South Waziristan, where white Islamic Emirate flag could be seen.

Till the latest reports, the checkpoint was vacant and Taliban had not taken control of the check post.
Analysts believed that Paktia, Khost and Paktika would be difficult for the Taliban to capture but these areas were easily taken over by them after successful talks with the Afghan forces in Kabul and the handing over of power to them.
