Cycling: Cavendish wins Olympics test race
Won the 140.3-kilometre 2012 Olympics road race test event.
LONDON:
Mark Cavendish of Great Britain won the 140.3-kilometre 2012 Olympics road race test event starting and finishing near the Buckingham Palace in a time of three hours, 18 minutes and 11 seconds. Sacha Modolo of Italy was second and France’s Samuel Dumoulin was third. The race featured more than 150 of the world’s leading cyclists. The race is one of a series of Olympic test events that have taken place this week. The Olympic cycling road race is among the events that will be free to view at London 2012.
