TANDLIANWALA:

Eight armed suspects tortured three people, including a prison department employee, after abducting them at the behest of their opponents to avenge an old feud.

They also filmed the torture on the prison employee and shared on social media. The suspects robbed him of cash, mobile phone and a gold ring.

Shahnawaz, a resident of area 400GB, filed a case in this regard, stating that he is an employee in the prisons department. “When I was returning from my village with Omar Daraz and Munir on July 23 at 8.30pm, after watching a floodlight cricket tournament match in village 615GB, the eight suspects including Farooq Ahmad, Mazhar and Siraj who were intoxicated stopped us and started abusing and torturing us.”

He added that they took off his shirt and snatched Rs15,000 in cash, a mobile phone and a gold ring from his pockets.

He also alleged that the attackers put a cloth around his neck and tried to strangle him, due to which he fainted.

“When I regained consciousness, the suspects tortured me and continued to treat me inhumanely. During this time, the accused continued to hurl abuses and recorded an objectionable  video of me on a mobile phone, which the suspects later made viral on social media and humiliated me in the society,” the complainant added.

Tandlianwala Sadar police registered a case against the suspects under Sections 365, 342, 379 and 109 of PPC and started raids to arrest them.

Earlier this year in April, six suspects were arrested for allegedly tying a disabled youth to a pole and torturing him on suspicion of theft.
