Football: Drogba wants new Chelsea contract
The 33-year-old is believed to want two more years.
LONDON:
Didier Drogba is adamant he wants to finish his career at Chelsea and says negotiations over a new contract are ongoing. The striker is in the final year of his contract in West London and the Blues are thought to have offered him a 12-month extension on his deal.
However, the 33-year-old is believed to want two more years, with a view to hanging up his boots at the Premier League club. “I said a few years ago that I’ll be here until the end of my contract,” he said. “But I would like to finish my career here.” Manager Andre Villas-Boas said the situation was still up in the air. “He knows our offer and he’s made a counter offer,” he said.”
