Citizen shoots dead two ‘robbers’

Alleged robbers fell off motorcycle and passersby pounced on them, beating them till police arrived

A citizen shot dead two alleged robbers as they attempted to flee after mugging him.

Yousuf Plaza SHO said the police had to rescue the two men, identified as Asad, 20, and Ameer Khan, 20, from the mob that had gathered to beat them up. He added that the alleged robbers were critically injured and succumbed to their wounds at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

According to the SHO, the citizen who opened fire at the deceased was a businessman, who owned a rent-a-car service. The businessman had been sitting in his vehicle near Kishti Chowk in Federal B area when the deceased approached him, stealing his cash and mobile phone, said the SHO, adding that the businessman handed over the valuables without resistance.

But as the alleged robbers embarked their motorcycle to leave, the businessman pulled out his pistol and shot them from behind.

The suspected robbers fell off the motorcycle and passersby pounced on them, beating them till the police arrived and shifted them to the hospital, said SHO Imran.
