Adnan Siddiqui tests positive for Covid-19 despite vaccination

Actor has urged everyone who had come in close contact with him to get tested as well

Popular actor Adnan Siddiqui has tested positive for Covid-19. The Meray Paas Tum Ho star and Dum Mastam producer took to his Instagram to let his fans know about the 'bug' that bit him.

"Hey everyone! So I have also been bitten by the bug, not the love bug but the Covid one," he shared. "I tested positive today, thankfully with mild infection and immediately placed myself in isolation," added Siddiqui.

He went on to urge those who had been in close proximity to him in the past few days to get tested as well. "I urge all of you who came in contact with me in the last one week, to get the tests done. Fingers crossed, stay safe guys!" he concluded.

Siddiqui isn't the first to have tested positive for the virus since the fourth wave emerged. Kashmir the Band's singer Bilal Ali also tested Covid-19 positive last week, despite getting vaccinated.

Even singer and host Fakhre Alam said many of his vaccinated friends are suddenly testing positive for the virus. "Suddenly hearing from so many friends that are vaccinated but down with Covid in Pakistan. What’s going on? #Covid_19" he asked on Twitter.

The spread of the coronavirus Delta variant is reaching alarming levels in Karachi. Public and some private sector hospitals had reached full capacity by the eve of the Eidul Azha holiday and began refusing patients, medical officials said on Tuesday. As infections surge across the country, the Sindh government also decided to impose further restrictions beginning today.

Moreover, the provincial government plans to ask the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block the mobile phone sims of all unvaccinated individuals after a week's notice.
