Capital’s Covid mortality rate reaches 0.93%
The mortality rate from coronavirus in Islamabad currently stands at 0.93 per cent while 97.31 per cent of infected patients have recovered after contracting the virus, the district health officer’s (DHO) latest report from Sunday revealed. The rate of active cases in the federal capital has been recorded at 1.76 per cent.
To date of all the persons who have contracted coronavirus, 58.69pc are males while 41.31pc are females. During the past 24 hours, 168 new infections were reported in Islamabad along with two deaths and 146 recoveries.
The Islamabad DHO in his report said there are 2,248 active cases in Islamabad, however, only 187 patients suffering from covid are receiving treatment in public or private hospitals.
The report said 695 beds have been allotted for covid-19 patients in Islamabad’s public and private hospitals of which 187 are occupied while 509 beds are vacant.

Among the people are admitted, 104 patients are locals while 83 are non-locals. Of these151 out of 187 patients are on oxygen. The break-up of these patients is: 86 are local while 65 are non-local people.
The DHO report said 36 out of 96 allocated ventilators are occupied. It further stated that so far 85,519 people have been infected in the federal capital. Of these 82,479 recovered fully while 792 persons died because of the deadly virus. Currently, there are 2,279 active cases in the federal territory.
The report said 9,631 children aged below 10 years were infected by the virus while 8,041 youngsters aged between 11 and 20 years were afflicted by the virus.
Giving age-wise break-up of patients, the report further said 17,322 people aged between 21 and 30, 24,230 persons aged between 21 and 45, 16,056 people aged between 46 and 60, 8,747 people aged between 61 and 80, and 864 persons aged over 81 years contracted the virus.
