Viral video case: physical remand of two suspects extended
A district and sessions judge on Friday extended the physical remand of two co-accused — who had been arrested for torturing, harassing, and stripping a couple in Sector E-11 — by three days.
As Judicial Magistrate West Waqar Gondal took up the case, Golra police produced the two accused, Mohib Bangash and Bilal Marwat, seeking extension in their physical remand for another five days.
On July 17, the co-accused were handed over to the police on a six-day physical remand.
On Friday, the police maintained that they have to further investigate the amount of extortion they had taken from the couple and about the clip of video the accused had shot.
The court handed over the suspects to the police on a three-day remand with a direction to produce them before the court on Monday.

The four suspects, Mirza, Ataur Rehman, Farhan Shaheen Awan, and Qayyum Butt, have already been sent on judicial remand for torturing, sexually assaulting, and blackmailing the couple in Islamabad.
The suspects were arrested on July 6 after the torturing and harassing video of the couple went viral on social media.
The incident had ignited widespread outrage online over the country’s longstanding problems with sexual violence, prompting a swift response from Islamabad police that arrested the suspects after the video went viral.
The video helped the police team to identify the suspects and gather information about Mirza’s real estate office situated right in front of the flat where the incident allegedly took place.
