Balochistan approves establishment of three border markets: CM Jam Kamal

Says province has planned setting up nine markets

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Tuesday said for the first time establishment of nine border markets was planned, out of which three have been approved.

He expressed these views while addressing a conference on business opportunities in Balochistan jointly organized by the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The conference was attended by provincial minister Mitha Khan Kakar, Chief Minister's Coordinator Bilal Khan Kakar, provincial secretaries, BBoIT CCO Saeed Ahmed Sarpara, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce President Nasir Mirza, Chamber Group Leader Sohail Altaf and BBoIT officials and businessmen.

“The government has completed construction of 2,500 kilometres of roads in the province to boost economic activity in the province,” he said, adding 10,000 km of roads would be completed by the next five years.

He said the province was enriched with immense mineral wealth and resources.

“There is a wide range of investments in minerals, energy, livestock, agriculture, fisheries and tourism opportunities in the province,” the chief minister said, adding the government was providing all possible facilities to the investors in Balochistan.

The chief minister said the business community was important for the improvement of economy in the country and the foreign investment could be enhanced through better infrastructure and offering good opportunities to the investors.

“Balochistan is rich in natural resources, especially natural salt, fish, minerals and livestock reserves, as well as chromites, gold and silver which are vastly found in Muslim Bagh and Sendak,” he said, adding these projects needed to be innovated.

On the occasion, the chief minister also inaugurated the Investment and Registration Portal.
