Vet clinics set up at 12 cattle markets

Owing to the threat of the spread of the Congo virus, the veterinary department of the Barani Agricultural University has devised a plan for the provision of services in 12 cattle markets of Rawalpindi.
The vet department will set up clinics at entry and exit points of each cattle market in Rawalpindi where the sacrificial animals would be administered vaccines against the Congo virus and other diseases.
The vets would also provide quick medical aid to the ill animals brought to the markets from far-flung areas.
The animals infected with severe or fatal diseases would be treated separately from the market.
An official of the veterinary department said that the animals brought to the cattle markets of Rawalpindi fall ill because of the unavailability of facilities and when people face problems when they purchase them.
