Martyred Elite Force official laid to rest

The young official was martyred while fighting dacoits near Karwan City area

OKARA:

Asad Jamil, a young official of Elite Force who was martyred while fighting dacoits near Karwan City area of Saddar police station was buried in the graveyard of his native area of Akhtarabad on Saturday.

His father told The Express Tribune that the deceased was his only son who had two sisters and was married seven months ago.

The funeral prayer was offered at Tayyab Saeed Shaheed Police Line. Regional Police Officer Ahmad Arsalan Malik, DPO Faisal Shehzad, former provincial minister Ashraf Khan Sohna, MNA Riazul Haq, district Bar Association president Mirza Zulfiqar and a large number of police officers attended the funeral prayers.

The body was then sent to his hometown Akhtarabad after a police salute, where thousands of people offered his funeral prayers. DPO Faisal Shehzad was among those who carried the body to the grave. The atmosphere in the area was mournful and the local market remained. Wreaths were sent by Inspector General Inam Ghani and other officers.

A robber killed in the police encounter was identified as Waqar Gulzar. Their body will be handed over to their heirs after completion of the necessary procedures.

DPO Faisal Shehzad said Jamil had make the department proud through his sacrifice while protecting the people.
