PM’s vision steered country out of difficult times: governor

Imran Ismael says unpopular but imperative decisions taken to contain coronavirus and mitigate its economic impact

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has lavishly praised the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan who successfully steering the country out of unprecedented times.

The premier made some unpopular but imperative decisions not only to contain the novel coronavirus pandemic but also to mitigate its economic impact, the governor said while speaking at a dinner-cum-business dialogue hosted by PTI’s senior leader Samir Mir Shaikh in Karachi.

“These decisions might have sounded controversial at the time, but they turned out to be the most noteworthy action plan,” he added.

Governor Imran Ismail said while the global economy has received a massive hit due to the pandemic, Pakistan’s economy was able to not only sustain but grow.

He also praised Samir Mir Shaikh for being a courageous and intelligent emerging politician and businessman. “Samir Mir Shaikh has made a tremendous political mark in a very short period of time in the PTI,” he said and thanked him for hosting such an august gathering.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Mahmood Moulvi, in his address, said that Pakistan’s economy over the last two years has made progress by leaps and bounds.

“The issues facing the business community are being resolved on fast-track basis, tax rebates to businesses are being issued at an unprecedented speed and the shipments and imports issues are being swiftly handled by the maritime affairs ministry,” he added.

“It is a good time to be in business in Pakistan, and the confidence of citizens and overseas investors is high in Prime Minister Imran Khan.”

Speaking on the occasion, SM Muneer said the government policies have helped the economy and boosted trade. He appreciated the entrepreneur-friendly policies and vision of the PTI.

He praised Samir Mir for being an innovative businessman and a brave politician. “Samir Mir has the potential to achieve everything he sets out to do.”

Attendees at the event included a large number of PTI lawmakers, prominent businessmen and consul generals of Turkey, Qatar, UAE, Japan etc.
