CM says officers failing to resolve public complaints have no place in Punjab

Six officers have been removed from their posts on public complaints and dereliction of duties.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has removed six officers from their posts over negligence and public complaints during his visit to Dera Ghazi Khan.

The Chief Minister Office said that Buzdar has removed Muzaffargarh Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Imran Shams and Dera Ghazi Khan’s tehsildar Aftab Iqbal, Anti-Corruption Director Hafiz Ahmed Tariq, XEN Highways Gulfam Iqbal, MS teaching hospital Dr Athar Farooq, superintendent central jail Yasir Khan have been removed from their posts on public complaints and dereliction of duties.

He said the chief minister has made it clear that officers failing to take timely actions for the solution of public problems have no place in Punjab. “I have behaved gently till now; he said and asserted that the officers must have to deliver while setting aside the tradition of colonial mindset. Immediate action will be taken if any negligence is found anywhere,” he warned.

Meanwhile, Buzdar also congratulated and appreciated the efforts of District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ghazi Khan Umar Saeed Malik for making monitoring and surveillance project operational in view of modern policing in the division on Thursday. “The smart city project will lead to significant improvement in monitoring and surveillance, crime control and traffic management in DG Khan,” the CM said.

The Punjab chief minister, while appreciating the performance of the DPO, said that the project would bring peace along with crime control and a special facility to maintain law and order in the district.
