KARACHI:

Karachi Municipal Corporation Administrator Laeeq Ahmed inspected on Wednesday the preparations and arrangements made to deal with rainwater during the monsoon season at City Warden Headquarters in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He hoped for witnessing a better situation this year.

Speaking on the occasion the administer said that 12 heavy pumps will be installed on the hotspots where the rainwater would possibly accumulate during the downpours, while 10 other pumps will be kept ready at the underpasses to draw the water out of them.

He said that in addition to the aforementioned arrangements, 20 new pumps have been procured and 11-dewatering pumps, tractors, dumpers and other equipment have been repaired to address the complaints at the earliest, whenever received.
