Bystander dies in firing incident

The victim was standing outside his home when he was hit by bullets fired by suspects

A man died while another child sustained injuries in a firing incident reported in Bilal Colony Lane 4 in Awami Colony area.

The victim Fida Muhammad was standing outside his home when he was hit by bullets fired by suspects at his neighbour's house.

Fida was not a party to the clash, he was just at a wrong place at a wrong time, Awami Colony police station SHO Inspector Safdar Mushwani told The Express Tribune.

The deceased and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in a Chhipa ambulance. The injured was identified as 12-year-old Akbar Qasim.

SHO Mushwani said that Ghulam Sarwar, a resident of Bilal Colony Lane 4 had taken Rs5,000 loan from Murad, a co-worker, and had not returned it. Both had exchanged verbal spat when Murad arrived on Sunday. Later, Murad came with his friends at Sarwar's residence and opened fire. Meanwhile, Sarwar's neighbour, Fida, who was standing outside his home got hit by bullets while another child Akbar also sustained injuries in the incident.
