Qureshi hopes PTI will wipe out PPP in Sindh

FM says Pakistan wants good ties with US on equality basis

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed his optimism on Friday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would wipe out Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from Sindh in the next general elections on account of performance.

During visits to different union councils of his constituency, Qureshi said that the PPP was no more the party of Zulifkar Ali Bhutto but now it had turned into a party of Asif Zardari. He said that current PPP leadership had put the ideology of ZA Bhutto aside.

“The PPP has been ruling Sindh for the last 13 years, but the condition of the interior Sindh was pathetic and miserable,” he said. “Corruption is reportedly on its peak in Sindh,” he added. He said that the PTI would win the next general elections on the basis of its performance and development projects.

Qureshi observed that the country was facing crisis, when the PTI assumed power. “The government had to take tough decisions to overcome those challenges for making the country economically stable,” he stated. “Pakistan has been put on path to growth and there will be prosperity in the days ahead.”

He said the overseas Pakistanis were the real asset of the country, adding that the PTI government was striving to make them part of the political system by ensuring the right to vote for the expatriates.

He told the people that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would bring about a revolution.

The foreign minister also said that Pakistan enjoyed good ties with the United States and added that Islamabad wanted cordial relationship with Washington on equality basis.

Regarding peace in Afghanistan, he said that sustainable peace was a top priority of Pakistan since whole region would benefit from it. He said the onus of peace and tranquillity in Afghanistan was with its leadership.

Qureshi spent a busy day in Multan, paying visits to different ongoing development projects. He also offered Fateha and condolences to families of different party workers who died recently. The minister was accompanied by Haji Javed Akhtar Ansari and other local leaders and party workers.
