Youth dies, two injured in firing

Personal disputed stated to be the reason behind the incident

CHAK JHUMRA:

A youth was killed while two other people suffered severe injuries when eight assailants opened fire on them in Chak Jhumra.

According to local sources, there was a dispute between Saqib and Shahid Hussain over elections. To avenge the dispute, the suspects including Shahid Hussain, Zahid Hussain, Sharif alias Billu, Umair, Zubair, Afzal, Shehzad, Ashraf and others allegedly opened fire on 23-year-old Saqib Aslam and 60-year-old Riaz Mukhtar who were sitting outside their house.

As a result, Saqib died on the spot, while Mukhtar and Asif Zia were injured. They were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police reached the spot and took possession of the body after registering a case against the nominated suspects under different sections of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence) and 302 (Punishment of qatl-i-amd).

In an earlier incident of a casualty over a dispute, a young man died last week after he was hit by a brick in Shera Kot.
