BANNU:

The negotiations between the Janni Khel tribesmen and authorities once again failed miserably but as a good will gesture government released 54 protesters arrested after clashes with police on Saturday.

Janni Khel tribesmen continued their protest on the fourth day outside the Bannu city Saturday and were about to end their camp and start their march to Islamabad but the Bakka Khel tribesmen interfered and requested them to postpone their march.

Today (Sunday) an important round of negotiations is expected to be held between the tribal elders and Provincial Minister Malik Shah Muhammad Khan.

Local residents told The Express Tribune that the Bakka Khel tribe has also assured the Janni Khel tribesmen that they will pay for all the losses of vehicles and goods occurred during the clashes with police. They said that Deputy Commissioner Bannu, DPO Bannu and other officials will also participate in the negotiations scheduled for Sunday.
