Land record centres established at 28 points

Land record centres have been established at 28 places across the district to facilitate the citizens.

According to officials, the main objective is to provide facilities related to the revenue department and alleviate problems of the people regarding land transfer and other services.

Earlier, a land record centre was functioning in every tehsil of the district. Now 28 centres have been set up across the district and responsibilities have also been assigned accordingly to the revenue staff.

The district administration has delivered all the modern equipment used in the centres arranged by the Punjab government in all the four tehsils of the district, the officials said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Nasrullah Khan said that more than 70% of the population of the area was entirely dependent on agriculture.

In such a situation, the people of the district were in dire need of the computerised revenue centre.

Khan said, “This is a good move by the government, which has not only ensured public services, but also made it possible to get rid of complaints, such as waiting due to overwork and crowding in the offices.”

Meanwhile, a land owner, Irfanullah Khan Niazi, expressed hope that that the newly established centres would be helpful in providing facilities to millions of people.
