ISLAMABAD:

Covid-19 vaccinations have been made mandatory for educational staff as part of new guidelines issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), a statement issued by the IBCC said on Friday.

The guidelines have been issued under the directives of Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood and the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

The rules will be adopted in SSC and HSSC examinations 2021 by all the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) across the country.

The regulations require all staffers to be inoculated against Covid-19 and dutiful implementation of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including clean drinking water facilities in the examination hall, separate glass for each student and distancing.

In addition, examination halls will be disinfected and cleaned on regular basis to reduce the risk of infection. The temperature of staff and students will be checked at the entry points of the examination hall.
Likewise, sanitisation of hands before appearing in the exam will be made mandatory.

Parents, teachers, and examination staff have been asked to ensure implementation of the prescribed SOPs in order to contain Covid-19 and smooth continuation of the educational sector.
