‘Federal govt pledging national assets for loans’

Energy minister says LNG crisis compounding unemployment in Sindh

KARACHI:

Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh said on Thursday that the international financial institutions have lost trust in the present federal government' due to its skewed policies and are therefore demanding national assets as guarantee.

Addressing a press conference at the Sindh Assembly, Sheikh said that LNG crisis in the province has rendered thousands of people jobless due to disruption in industrial production.

The failed economic and administrative policies of the federal government are creating economic crisis in Sindh. Deliberately, the agricultural sector of Sindh was affected by suspending province's water share while the suspension of gas is affecting its industries.

He said that CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah is indicating the issues of Sindh on every forum which has left the federal government in trouble.

Since none of the chief minister's are as competent as CM Sindh hence hindrances are being created in the way of the Sindh government to influence the performance of the provincial government.

Sheikh said that the federal government will not be able to handle the crisis that will stem from their policies. They are unable to manage the economy and they are stirring anarchy.

He further said that Sindh is being deprived of its constitutional right of producing it's own gas which is also a big constitutional violation.

It would be better for the federal government to rectify its policies, the minister said.
