The Punjab government has allocated Rs85 million for the construction of two new 100-bed hospitals and for the up-gradation of another one near the entry points of Rawalpindi district to help ease patients’ load on Rawalpindi Allied Hospitals.
In the new financial year, the provincial government has allocated the sum for the construction of a 100-bed hospital near Taxila Chakri Jodian, another 100-bed hospital in Murree and the up-gradation of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kahuta.
With the allocation, the provincial government is envisaging to complete work on all the three healthcare facilities in one year.
A sum of Rs500 million has been allocated for the construction of the three-storey general hospital near Taxila Chakri Jodian — the junction Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Rawalpindi district.

The provincial government has transferred its 93-kanal of land for the construction of the hospital.
Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar told The Express Tribune that a project concept (PC) of the new project has been prepared and the foundation stone will be laid in the new financial year.
He said that the health facility equipped with modern facilities will have three operation theatres with an OPD, emergency and a special labour room for the birth.
The minister said that the facility will provide 24-hour service for emergency and traffic-related incidents that occur on GT Road and the motorway.
Similarly, the provincial government has allocated Rs200 million to set up a 100-bed general hospital adjacent to Murree TB Hospital.
