Suri inaugurates private airline service in Balochistan

Says launching of the airline services will promote tourism and trade opportunities in the backward province

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on Wednesday said the initiative of private domestic airline service would connect Balochistan to other parts of the country, while inaugurating AirSial Airline services from Islamabad to Quetta at the airport of the federal capital.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that easy access to Gwadar Port and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) related projects would capitalise the opportunities of growth and investment in province.

“The successful operation of domestic airline services for six cities, especially for Quetta, would bring ease and comfortable traveling to people of Balochistan,” said the deputy speaker, adding the government was making all out efforts to resolve the issues faced by people of the province.

Suri said the launching of the airline services would promote tourism and trade opportunities in the backward province, while the license of AirSial services was renewed in 2018 by the government to promote domestic business and trade. On the occasion, the deputy speaker lauded the role of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry for making Sialkot Airport functional and starting domestic airline.

Suri also appreciated the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry for starting Airsial Services from Islamabad to Quetta.

Talking to media about the recent comments of Prime Minister Imran Khan over the dressing of women which sparked heavy criticism from all sectors of society, the deputy speaker said: “Islam is a complete code of life and promoting our dressing code is in accordance with religious and cultural values.”

Suri added the prime minister used to visit across the world in national dress to promote Pakistani culture.

AirSial Airline chief executive officer expressed gratitude to the deputy speaker for gracing the event and apprised Suri that the airline would take three flights a week from Islamabad to Quetta.

The chief hoped that soon AirSial would extend its strength of airbuses and expand its flight operation internationally.
