Filtration plants to be installed across Punjab
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has announced six filtration plants will be installed in each constituency of the National Assembly across the province under the largest Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority (PAPA) project.
Reportedly, three filtration plants each will be installed in all constituencies of the provincial assembly.
PAPA Chairperson Dr Shakeel Ahmed briefed about the ongoing projects of Aab-e-Pak Authority while National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser appreciated the authority. The speaker said, “Such authority should also be set up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Addressing the reception, the governor said that regardless of major challenges, the bureaucracy of Punjab, the federal government, the provincial government and the PAPA were on the same page. “The provision of clean drinking water will not be delayed and PAPA will work diligently in this regard.”

In the first phase, PAPA will install six filtration plants each in all constituencies of the National Assembly in Punjab whereas three filtration plants will be installed in constituencies of the provincial assembly.
Sarwar said that the previous governments spent billions of rupees on clean drinking water projects but their performance remained zero and all their filtration plants were shut down. “However PAPA will not only be completely corruption free but we will ensure that all filtration plants continue to provide clean drinking water to the public.”
