SC Petition: Apex court urged to help curb car snatching

A lawyer has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, urging it to form a judicial commission to deter car snatching incidents across Pakistan besides requesting the apex court to order the authorities concerned to curb such incidents.
The petitioner is a high court lawyer, Malik Naseem Abbas Nasir, who is legal adviser of an organisation formed by 200 car snatching victims belonging to Islamabad and Rawalpindi named Anti Car Lifting Association (ACLA).
Citing reports published in the media in which a car lifter, Muhammad Hassan, alias Major Mohammad Hassan claimed he would expose names of major players involved in the illegal business of car lifting, contending that the cabal included police and excise officials, businessmen and political figures.
