Salim Khan is not impressed with Salman Khan's ‘Radhe’
Parents always want the best for you, and so they are undeniably your best critics. Veteran screen writer Salim Khan’s honest review about his superstar son Salman Khan’s latest Eid release, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, is proof of the same. Saying it how it is, Salim told Hindi publication Dainik Bhaskar that he was not impressed with the film at all. “Radhe is not a great film at all,” Hindustan Times quoted him as saying.
Salim continued, “But commercial cinema has a responsibility that every person can get money. From artists to producers, distributors, exhibitors and every stakeholder should get the money. The one who buys the cinema must get the money. Due to this, the cycle of cinema making and business goes on. On this basis, Salman has performed. Stakeholders of this film are at advantage. Otherwise, Radhe is not that great a film.”
The father of the Sultan star also had a thing or two to say about his previous movies. “The film prior to this, Dabangg 3 was different. Bajrangi Bhaijaan was good and totally different,” he said in the same interview.
Defending Salman’s position, Salim also spoke about the lack of competent writers in the film industry. "A big problem of the film industry is that there are no good writers here. The reason for this is that the writers do not read literature in Hindi or Urdu. They see anything outside and get involved in Indian-ising it. The film Zanjeer was a game-changer for Indian cinema. That film made Indian cinema come back on the right path. But since then, the industry has not received the replacement of Salim-Javed yet. In such a situation, what can Salman do?" he questioned.
Besides Salman, Radhe also starred Randeep Hooda, Disha Patni, Jackie Shroff, Sangay Tsheltrim and Gautam Gulati among others. The film proved to be Salman’s lowest-rated movie on IMDb to date. A statement from Salman’s legal team, DSK Legal has also disclosed that the actor is suing Kamaal R Khan (KRK) for defamatory claims in his Radhe review. Following this, KRK vowed to never review any of Salman’s films again.
