RAWALPINDI:

Six persons broke into the house of a 19-year-old girl and gang-raped her in Dhok Chaudhry area in the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station. The suspects also filmed the victim while committing the offence and threatened to post the video on social media if she initiated legal action.

Police said the victim MF* told police that her family rented a house from Khayal Mohammad a year ago and moved in.

She told police that on March 21, the suspect, Abdul Basit, came to the house to collect rent. She told him that her mother wasn't at home and asked him to return in the evening. The victim said Basit used to harass her to befriend him or else vacate the house. She said she had also told her mother about it who complained to Basit's family.

MF* said that the suspect returned with five unidentified men whom she did not know. They forcibly entered the house and dragged her to a room. One of the persons pulled out a pistol while the others raped her.

She added the suspects kept making her videos and threatened to post it on the internet if MF* resorted to legal action or told anyone about them. The girl also demanded the police provide her protection and register a case against the suspects.

A police spokesman said a case has been registered and the prime suspect, Basit was arrested and an investigation was under way.
