Necessary Legislation: Call for new province for tribal areas
Tribesmen held their customs and traditions very dear and were not willing to give them up: Nasir Khan Afridi.
KHYBER AGENCY:
Tribesmen are not yet ready to be assimilated into Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s settled areas and a new province should be created centred around tribal areas, Nasir Khan Afridi, a former senator from Fata, said on Friday.
In a statement issued on Friday, the former lawmaker said parliament should make necessary legislation for carving out a separate province, comprising seven tribal agencies and six Frontier Regions (FRs). Rejecting the ANP’s proposal to merge tribal areas with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, he said that tribesmen held their customs and traditions very dear and were not willing to give them up.
