Minister blames Centre, IRSA for water shortage

IRSA has been releasing water for the lower riparian provinces

The Sindh government has again blamed the Centre and the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) for denying due share of Indus River’s water to Sindh and for trying to mislead the nation with questionable statistics of water discharge. At a press conference at Kotri Barrage in Jamshoro district on Thursday, Sindh Irrigation Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal said IRSA has been continuously doing injustice with Sindh. “Balochistan is being provided 200 per cent more water than its due share. This is a bid to make Sindh and Balochistan provinces develop a clash.” According to him, IRSA has been releasing water for the lower riparian provinces sometimes from the canals in Punjab or from the Mangla Dam in smaller quantity intermittently
