Gohar Rasheed calls out Gal Gadot over pro-Israel comments

'Your country is not at war, It has created a war,' the Ishqiya star penned

Israeli actor Gal Gadot has released a statement over the ongoing atrocities in Palestine. Taking to social media, the Wonder Woman star shared, "My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people."

She went on to add, "This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbors deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.”

Soon after her stance, there was a furore on social media while many called out the actor for siding with the oppressors. Pakistani actors Gohar Rasheed and Osman Khalid Butt, too, took to social media and shared their two cents on the matter.

"Gal Gadot, your country is not at war, It has created a war," the Ishqiya star tweeted, adding, "No patriotism is bigger than innocent people's lives and humanity and if you can’t be mind full of that being an Israeli then it’s very evident that where the problem lies. Hope you realise it soon."

The Chupke Chupke star wrote, "Read the room and a f'ng newspaper."

At least 149 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the violence began on Monday, including 41 children, health officials said. Israel has reported 10 dead, including two children.

Envoys from the United States, United Nations and Egypt were working to restore calm but have yet to show any signs of progress. The UN Security Council was due to meet later on Sunday to discuss the worst outbreak of Israeli-Palestinian violence in years.
