Two girls among 12 killed in separate road mishaps

Twelve people including two minor girls were killed while eight others including three women sustained injuries in different traffic accidents that took place on three days of Eidul Fitr.

According to police, a speeding car fell into a nullah near Jinnah International Airport after the driver lost control of the wheel. The crash killed two girls aged four and six and left three women seriously injured.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the spot with heavy crane to pull out the vehicle from the drain. The dead and the injured were taken out of the car and shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre Hospital. The relatives of the affected family also reached the hospital but declined to speak to the media. However, they said that the family was a resident of Malir Cantt. The bodies of the children were handed over to the heirs after due process.

In another incident, a young man was killed and another was injured in a traffic accident near the Northern Bypass at Super Highway. The two youths were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Chhippa volunteers. According to rescue officials, the motorcyclists were rammed by an unknown vehicle.

Youth falls victim to killer kite string 

Separately, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident near Jail Chowrangi. He was being taken to Jinnah Hospital in a rickshaw when he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as 18-year-old Owais.

In another traffic accident, a youth named Mubashir was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Sector Z-2 area of Gulshan-e-Maymar. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
