Efforts afoot to make Islamabad safest city, says SSP Operations
Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer on Tuesday said efforts were afoot to make the federal capital the safest city as a foremost priority.
SP Saddar zone Captain (retired) Hamzah Humayun constituted special teams under supervision of DSP Sajjad Bukari, including Station House Officer (SHO) Sub-Inspector Asim Ghaffar and others, a spokesperson maintained.
This team arrested a wanted member of a bike lifting gang identified as Asad Ali and recovered two stolen motorcycles from his possession.
The team also arrested a suspect named Kamran and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Meanwhile, Nilore police arrested an accused named Aneeq and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him while Sihala police arrested two accused, Abdul Waheed and Shahbaz, and recovered two pistols along with ammunition from their possession.
Moreover, Shahzad Town police arrested a suspect identified as Mohib Khan and recovered 420 grammes of heroin from his possession while Industrial Area police arrested an accused named Gul Zubair and recovered 315 grammes of hashish from him.
Cases have been registered against all nabbed individuals while further investigation is underway, the official added.
SSP Operations has appreciated the performance and directed all SHOs for an effective crackdown against those involved in anti-social activities.
He asked for renewed efforts to curb such practices and get rid of society from the menace, adding that performance in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis.
Dr Tanweer also categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving the public’s complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to the citizens.
