Strict SOPs to be implemented during Eid prayers

The district administration has announced Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be held under strict coronavirus SOPs as a complete lockdown was observed in the federal capital on the third consecutive day.

In line with National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) decisions, all tourist destinations and resorts, public parks, restaurants, shopping malls, and hotels were closed. All tourist spots will remain closed till May 16 as per NCOC directives.

On Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqat’s instructions, district administration teams strictly implemented the lockdown orders.

According to a district administration notification, grocery shops, bakeries and sweet shops will open from 9 am to 6 pm while dairy shops and takeaways will be open round the clock.

The Ramazan Sasta bazaars will remain open till a day before Eid while all hotels, restaurants, guest houses, and shopping malls will remain shut.

In addition, interprovincial and intercity transport will remain inoperative during the Eid holidays. However, locals of Gilgit-Baltistan will be allowed to return to their homes.

Schedule announced

The administrators of mosques and Eidgahs in the federal capital have announced the schedule for Eid prayers to be held in mosques and Eidgahs.

As per the schedule, Eid prayers at Shah Faisal Mosque will be offered at 7:30am and it will be led by Prof Tahir Hakeem of the Islamic University. At Jama Masjid Syedna Zain-ul-Abidin or Darbar Masjid, Eid prayers will be offered at 7:05 in the leadership of Hafiz Muhammad Naeem Qadri.

At the Ahl-e-Sunnat University Islamabad, Shaykh-ul-Hadith Prof Dr Mufti Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Jalali will lead the Eid prayers at 7 30am. Dr Mufti Muhammad Aslam Jalali will lead the Eid prayers at 7:30 am at Noor Mustafa Jinnah Garden Mosque.

Eid prayers will be offered at Jama Masjid Al-Furqan in Sector I-8 Markaz at 7am. Maulana Khalid Hassan will lead the prayers.

Eid prayers at Imam Hassan Mosque in Sector G-10/4 will be offered at 7am. Maulana Muhammad Hassan Turabi will lead the prayers.

Maulana Mehr Farhat Hussain will lead the Eid prayers at Amir-ul-Momineen Mosque in Sector G-8/4. It will be offered at 7am.

At Moosa Kazim Jhangi Syedan ​​Mosque and Imambargah, Maulana Syed Mohammad Hasnain Naqvi will lead the Eid prayers at 7:30am.

Eid prayers will be offered at Jama Masjid-ur-Rehman in Sector I-8 at 7:15am.

Maulana Abdul Salam Jalali will lead the Eid prayers at Jamia Masjid Abu Dharr Ghafari in Sector G-8 at 7am.
